Elementary School Options

Athol-South Marysburgh Public School in Cherry Valley offers instruction from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 8. 

CML Snider Elementary School in Wellington offers instruction from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 8.

Kente Public School, located near Ameliasburgh, offers instruction from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 8. 

Massassauga-Rednersville Public School, located just south of Belleville, offers instruction from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 6. Most students transfer to Kente Public School for Grades 7 and 8.

Prince Edward Collegiate Institute (PECI) in Picton offers instruction from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 12 as well as a Grade 4 – 8 French Immersion program.

Sonrise Christian Academy is a non-denominational Christian elementary school in Picton offering instruction from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 8.

Sophiasburgh Central School near Demorestville offers instruction from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 8. 

St. Gregory’s Catholic School is a Catholic school in Picton offering instruction from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 8. 

Cedar Grove School offers a holistic, nature-based education rooted in Waldorf traditions. Their Kindergarten, Grade School, and Forest Adventure programs are located at 2590 County Road 15, Picton.

Wildhearts Forest & Nature School offers Nature Kindergarten (3.8-6 year olds) & Forest Friday (Grades 1-4) programming.

Secondary School

Prince Edward Collegiate Institute (PECI) in Picton is the only secondary school in Prince Edward County. It offers instruction from Junior Kindergarten – Grade 12.

Before & After School Care

The Hub Child & Family Centre offers licensed before & after school programs for kids aged 3.8-12 years at several locations. If you commit upon enrollment to a specific schedule, you pay the fixed price; if not, you pay the occasional price. At the fixed rate, care costs $9/morning and $13/afternoon. At the occasional rate, care costs $11/morning and $15/afternoon. Locations and times are as follows:

• Prince Edward Collegiate Institute (PECI) – 7:00-8:15 a.m. / 2:30-6:00 p.m.
• St. Gregory’s Catholic School – 2:30-6:00 p.m. (NO before school care)
• Kente Public School – 7:30-9:15 a.m. / 3:45-6:00 p.m.
• CML Snider School – 7:30-9:15 a.m. / 3:45-6:00 p.m.

County Acrobatics is offering an afterschool program starting in Fall 2025 from 2:45-4:45 p.m. for $20/day (5 p.m. pick option for additional fee). Learn more here.

Reaching For Rainbows offers afterschool programming for two groups of girls: the  10-12 year old girls attend on Mondays and Tuesdays, and the 6-9 age girls attend on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The program follows the school board calendar and runs afterschool from October through May.

The Belleville YMCA offers a before & after school program at Massassauga-Rednersville Public School for kids aged 3.8-12 years from 7:30-9:20 a.m. and 3:15-6:00 p.m. Before school care costs $11.35/day and after school care costs $13.10/day. PA Day Care Options

The HUB Child & Family Centre, County Acrobatics & Pure Joy Dance, and Baxter Arts Centre generally offer PA Day care. Check their websites for details!
