PA Day & Holiday Care
A guide to PA Day, Holiday Break, and March Break care/camps for kids in Prince Edward County.
N.B. – Most 2020 camps were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so much of the information below has not been updated. We will keep a close eye on what is being planned for 2021, but for the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic, please reach out to individual organizations to determine whether their programs are running.
PA (Professional Activity) Day Care
The Hub Child & Family Centre provides PA Day care for kids aged 3.8-12 years at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute in Picton. For more information, please contact the HUB at 613-476-8142 and/or visit the website. At the fixed rate*, the cost is $40/full day and $23/half day. At the occasional rate, the cost is $42/full day and $25/half day.
The Prince Edward Fitness & Aquatic Centre (PEFAC) provides PA Day Camps from 8:30-4:30 for children aged 4-12. The cost is $30/day.
2020 March Break camps
Archway Connection, a nonprofit focused on emotional healing and mental health wellness, will offer a fully outdoors “magic camp” this March Break for kids aged 6-13 years. 3 days (March 16-18) costs $150 and the full 5 days (March 16-20) costs $180. The days run from 10-3; pre- and post-care available for $10/30 minutes.
Hadherway Farms offers a March Break camp for kids aged 5 and up with “a genuine interest in riding, horsemanship and stable management”. The hours are 9-3, and before and after care can be arranged. Snacks are provided. Please contact Hadherway Farms for cost and other details.
The Prince Edward Fitness & Aquatic Centre (PEFAC) in Picton is offering a March Break camp for kids aged 3-12. The cost is $30/day or $135/week, and the hours are 8:30-4:30 (before and after care can be arranged for an extra fee).
The County Museums are running a March Break camp for 6-11 year olds at Macaulay Heritage Park from 9-4. The cost is $35/day – you can book individual days or the whole week, and snacks are provided. To register, please contact Janice at jhubbs@pecounty.on.ca.

The Baxter Arts Centre is running a half-day arts-themed camp over March Break. The days run from 9:30-12:30 and the cost for the week is $100. The general age range is 7-10 years old. You can register here.
That Blue Barn is running a 2-day Farm/Forest/Art camp on Monday March 16th and Tuesday March 17th from 8:30-4. It is open to school-aged children and costs $55/day or $100 for both days. To register, send an email to melanie@thatbluebarn.com. Snacks and lunch provided.
Carson’s Garden & Market is offering 2-hour (10-12) gardening classes for kids aged 5-12 over March Break – choose one day between March 16th and 20th. The cost is $55+HST. Snacks provided.
The Prince Edward County Public Library offers a range of programming over school breaks (including PA Days, March Break, and summer). Please visit the website for more information.
2019-2020 Winter holiday break camps
The Hub Child & Family Centre offers a winter holiday break camp at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute. This year’s dates are December 23, 24, 30, 31, 2019 and January 2, 3, 2020. For more information, please contact the HUB at 613-476-8142 and/or visit the website. At the fixed rate*, the cost is $40/full day and $23/half day. At the occasional rate, the cost is $42/full day and $25/half day.
