Summer Day Camps
A guide to kids’ summer day camps in Prince Edward County. This guide will be updated as information becomes available, but please also visit the links for details.
N.B. – For the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic, please reach out to individual organizations to determine whether their programs are running.
Archway Connection, a nonprofit focused on emotional healing and mental health wellness, offers an outdoor summer camp for kids aged 6-13 years. Cost – $55/day or $185/week. Hours – 10-3.
Camp Wake is a water sports-based day camp (with special emphasis on wakeboarding) on West Lake for kids aged 5-17 years old. Cost – $650+hst/week. Hours – 9-4.
County Clippers, the local youth basketball league, offers a 4-day summer camp for kids entering Grade 2-8 the following September. It takes place at Prince Edward Collegiate Institute (PECI) in Picton. Cost – $200. Hours – 9-3.
The Hub Child & Family Centre offers summer day camps at the following locations: Prince Edward Collegiate Institute (PECI) in Picton, CML Snider Public School in Wellington, and Massassauga-Rednersville Public School in Ameliasburgh. They are open to children between the ages of 44 months and 12 (including 12 year olds). Cost – $40/full day or $23/half day. Hours – 7:30-5:30.
Hadherway Farms offers day camps for several weeks over the summer. They are for kids aged 5 and up with “a genuine interest in riding, horsemanship and stable management”. Hours – 9-3 (before and after care can be arranged).
Harbour Ridge Camp is a Christian camp on West Lake that offers day and overnight camp options. Hours – 8-5.
The County offers History Alive! day camps at local museums for several weeks over the summer. Cost – $35/day. Hours – 9-4 (before & after care can be arranged for an extra fee).
Impact Arts Camp is a 4-day free arts-themed camp for kids aged 7-10 at the Hope Centre. Cost – Free. Hours – 8:15-4.
The Marysburgh Mummers offer drama camps for kids aged 8 years and up at Milford’s Mount Tabor Community Playhouse over several weeks during the summer.
Music at Port Milford runs a one-week half-day Choral Day Camp. Campers generally range in age from 7-13 years old. Cost – $80. Hours – 9-12.
Pleasant Bay Children’s Camp is a Christian camp located in Consecon that offers day and overnight camp options. Cost – $39/day. Hours – 9-5.
The Prince Edward County Soccer Association (PECSA) has partnered with Challenger Sports to offer a one-week Soccer Day Camp in the past.
The Prince Edward Fitness & Aquatic Centre (PEFAC) offers summer camps throughout July and August for kids aged 4-12. Please consult the PEFAC website for cost details. Daily, weekly, and monthly rates are available, and half days are also available upon request. Swimming lessons can be added for an extra fee. Hours – 8:30-4:30 (before & after care can be arranged for an extra fee).
Prince Edward Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron 851 runs free summer day camps.
The Prince Edward Yacht Club offers a summer camp for kids aged 10-18 years. Please visit the Yacht Club’s site for up-to-date information.
Running in 2021! Quinta Do Conde in Black River is hosting an organic farm camp for 5-12 year olds.
Tanglewood Farm & Equestrian Centre offers equestrian summer day camps. For details, please email the Centre at tanglewoodhorses@hotmail.com.
West Lake Watersports Kids Camp is a day camp for kids aged 6-12 – it includes one night/week of overnight tent camping. It also offers a $99/week Counselor-in-training program for 13 year olds. Cost – $199/week. Hours – 8-5.
Summer workshops
The County has run themed workshops for kids aged 5-11 on select days from 10-2 during the summer at the Ameliasburgh Heritage Village & the Mariners Park Museum.
Archway Connections runs a 2 days/week (9-3) Saddle Up for Success program during 4 weeks in the summer. Kids aged 8-16 years old are eligible and participate in horseback riding, animal care, art therapy, mindfulness, orienteering and cultivating survival tools.
